Texas Rodeos

Top 8 Texas Rodeos

What started as a game between cowboys became the official sport of Texas. In the days of the traditional cowboys, they began to compete informally with each other to see who dominated the animals best and achieved the most spectacular equestrian and livestock skills. These fights attracted an increasing number of spectators who, when they gathered, enjoyed the exhibitions and celebrations that represented these practices, which gave rise to the rodeo as it is known today.

The sport – considered by many to be “extreme” – consists of sitting unsaddled on a wild horse or beef for as long as possible and skillfully executing other skills including bull riding, horse riding with bridle or saddle, barrel racing, calves, knockdown of steers, tie in pairs, mooring of sheep, among others.

Today, the rodeo is a party that includes music, drinking, parades, contests, and lots of fun.
