Every year, more than 5 million people visit this beautiful region. It’s easy to understand why campers adore the Hill Country. Roadsides and open fields are dotted with colorful wildflowers in the spring, ranging from the Indian paintbrush to the state flower, the bluebonnet. Autumn brings vibrant reds, oranges, and yellows as the leaves herald the arrival of a new season. Summer is a great time to go river tubing, boat on one of the many lakes, or simply enjoy an outdoor barbecue. Winter is mild, with a slight chill in the air, making it ideal for viewing the thousands of Christmas lights that residents put up.

The Hill Country in Texas boasts a wine trial of 22 wineries. These wineries have made Texas one of the top wine producers in the country. Visitors also enjoy abundant wildlife such as white-tailed deer, mockingbirds, and armadillos that make their home among the hills.

The Texas Hill Country has something for every camper to enjoy. Whether you like to get out and explore the great outdoors, canoe, boat, and experience pristine wilderness untouched by urban sprawl or prefer to spend your time shopping among the region’s many antique shops, the Hill Country is rich with many activities for everyone to enjoy.

Testimonials and reviews:

This was a very nice, friendly park. The roads and sites were paved with a patio and table with some grass at each site. The restrooms/showers were the best I have seen very clean with large showers and excellent water pressure. There was river access for walking or fishing. We camped here in a Motorhome

Bastrop River RV Park Amenities

We currently have 30 and 50-amp hookups as well as the best bathhouse in Texas with hot showers and changing rooms! Our Clubhouse is up and running and ready for rallies! It has a full kitchen, a large meeting room, restrooms and a gorgeous stone hearth. I can’t wait to warm up my underbelly come winter! Sure beats a hollow log for atmosphere. The swimming pool and spa are ADA accessible (I prefer a mud bath m’self, but to each his own). Nestled near two large shade trees, the pool is 3-5 feet deep with a new restroom and shower for pool guests. You can enjoy our own River Walk and fishing pier, with large rocking chairs for relaxing and watching the river go by. My whiskers are twitchin’ at the thought of it! You can toss your line in from the river bank or from our fishing pier. (I’m a big proponent of “catch and release”.)

I share the Colorado River with a few friends. These are the aggressive and wily Largemouth Bass, the Guadalupe Bass, panfish, the Freshwater Drum, my cousin the Channel Catfish, and my immediate family the Yellow Catfish (aka Flathead Catfish). We are a lively bunch and will keep you busy for hours while you attempt to lure us onto your hook.
