Second Annual TechBA Expo:
The University of Texas at Austin Announces
A Showcase of Global Technology Companies on June 9

The Technology Business Accelerator of Austin (TechBA Austin) will host its second annual exposition on June 9. The TechBA Austin program is sponsored by the Secretary of Economy of Mexico and operated through a partnership between U.S. Mexico Foundation for Science (FUMEC) and the IC2 Institute at The University of Texas at Austin.

The expo will provide an opportunity to network with the local and international business communities. Exhibiting companies will display their innovative technologies, products, and services as part of their expansion to the U.S./global market. Last year’s expo had 26 exhibitors and more than 250 attendees.

Hope Andrade, Texas Secretary of State, will give the keynote address with an introduction and special remarks by Phil Wilson, Senior Vice President of Public Affairs at Luminant. Additional speakers will include Omar Ibarra, Executive Director for the Secretary of Economy of Mexico; Dr. Juan Sanchez, Vice President for Research at The University of Texas at Austin; and Dr. Luis Medina, CEO of TechBA Austin.

Honored guests include Rosalba Ojeda, Consul General of Mexico; Jana Nieto, Director of Technology for the Secretary of the Economy of Mexico; Guillermo Fernandez, President and CEO of FUMEC; Lilia Arechavala, TechBA Director for FUMEC; Dr. John Butler, Director of IC² Institute; and Robert Peterson, UT Associate Vice President for Research.

TechBA‐Austin provides business development resources for selected technology companies who are expanding into global markets. Since 2005, more than 130 companies have received remote training; of that group, 45 have participated in the acceleration program and generated more than $33M in revenue.
